Dear friends

I and Emma Giaquinto are calling for a first meeting for a new progressive political group based in Brooklyn to continue work on the ideas that Dennis advocated.
The group will not have any party affiliations and is not meant to be a continuation of the presidential election campaign, but instead a long term effort on progressive issues.

The purpose of this group is to:
? Create a place for progressive minded people to talk, organize and exchange ideas
? Create outreach information and education for the general public, focusing on issues of broad interest ( peace, health care, global warming, jobs etc.), using all the new means of commutation that are becoming available
? Keep track of what local politicians are doing or not doing
? Cooperate with other progressive groups, local and national, that are doing interesting work

We feel that information is the key to democracy in this country. Much of the political control happens at the media level where systematic policies of confusion, deception and concealment are carried out. Thanks to new information technologies, the media?s monolithic ?reality control? is developing some cracks and new opportunities are opening for small political groups to have a much greater impact than in the past.

Though we are Brooklyn based, anyone from other places who likes to join us will be welcomed.

Meeting Time and Place:
3:00 PM Sunday February 24th
Has Beans Café
620 5th Avenue
Brooklyn, NY 11215
(718) 499-3828

WE will be attending the Kucinich fundraiser on Thursday, you can talk to us about this new group at that time.

Hola Max ... This is a terrific idea and excellent endeavor. Hurray! I'd love to be part of the group. What is the nearest subway stop to the "Has Beans Cafe"? Sadly I cannot attend tonights fundraiser, as I have a board meeting with "New Yorkers for a Dept of Peace". I'll be with you all in spirit. Be peace, Charlene Barker
