Location: San Francisco, CA us

Introduction:
"I served as a delegate for Dennis Kucinich in the Maine Democratic Convention in 2004. I have attended many fundraising and speaking events. In 2006 I invited the Congressmen out to dinner in DC and he graciously accepted and attended. "
Why do you support Dennis Kucinich for President in 2008?
"I believe in Dennis Kucinich. Never have I experienced a politician who gave me such hope that someday the US can be what it's capable of being... a humane, peaceful and embracing community of well-informed, well-cared for citizens of the world."
What would you like to do in the future to help the campaign?
"I would like to be actively involved. I can host meetings in my home. I am willing and able to participate in all levels of campaigning from grassroots door to door to more formal engagements. "
What are you doing now to help the campaign?
"I have been in contact with several people through his website, but unfortunately people have not been following through. I am talking about Dennis to my friends, coworkers and family."

  • Since the beginning of my involvement with the 2008 DK campaign, I sensed it was poorly managed but still the best opportunity to let the powers-that-be hear what I want in a candidate, and waht issues are important to me. I still think a vote for Dennis is the best way to achieve that, whether he's officially running or not, and have just voted for him on my mail-in ballot. For the record, who I vote for in November depends on who our candidates are; I may well be Green again by then.

  • Now that Dennis has announced his withdrawal from the race, how should DK supporters in the states yet to have a primary proceed? Should we cast our vote for Dennis in hopes of leveraging our delegates in the national convention and putting our key issues on the platform? Or do we throw support "the next best thing," that being a candidate who comes closest to reflecting our own values? I'd like some input on what tack progressives should take.

  • I am in the 909 area code. Am disabled, so driving to Orange County or Riverside is something I really try to avoid unless I have to be there, like to go to my doctor.

Any other info would help though if they are closer. I live in Redlands. Hope we can get some people together. I would like to help!

    Thanks for your answer!

  • Thank you so much for the welcome! I should be back up north in a few months :)
